Beautiful sun rise this morning. I saw that lovely golden orange glow when I stepped out of the shower. The sky looked like this when I got to my room to look out the window : rise.

I took carpe diem 2, gape, preserve, fade, alone and up today.
You have to wonder what prompted this.
Sill.
. . .
Over-compensating?
Dent. Not Arthur Phillip.
The ice formed a shell over the snow, which is now melting. It leaves interesting shapes behind, as seen on this bench.
Blue ice.
Gazebo
Broken up.
I have like a quarter of an inch of depth of field here.
Now, I took versions of this picture at +.7 to make the ice look right, but I like this one better.

Long exposures at night.
Color balance is really red on this one.
Here's the same picture with a more normal color balance.
Rock face at night.
Branches
Terror
Ghostly
I also took a picture of that tree : a touch of grey

January 20 2009 -- Eastern Inaugural Ball
Taken with my girlfriend's Sony DSC-W90 point and shoot. It is a nice little camera, and I was impressed with the image stabilization, and surprisingly pretty happy with the noise level at iso 1600 on such a small sensor with densely packed pixels. It's not the false color and hot pixels you often see (although that may be noise reduction), but it's obvious even at these small sizes.
Still, really wish I had my D40.
Capital at night from Union station.
Union station is nice, and I really loved the blue on the ceiling.
With reflected red lights from the stage
Candle.
Columns and pillars and statues.
I need to find out who this band is, but they were great. It was rather surreal to see a gaggle of middle aged people in tuxes and ballgowns dancing to "Play that funky music white boy", "Brick House", and "The Electric Slide".
More decoration.
James Taylor. -2 exposure compensation (as far as it will go) and still his face is just blown out highlights.
Kinda creepy Obama mask.
Spiderweb
Subway.

Hard to believe it was flurrying this morning when I got up.
Zig. Or Zag.
Oh darn, I was thirsty.
Bar star?
Painted.
I have no idea.
Reminds me of certified.
Window seat.
I am not entirely sure a cargo container counts as a building.
Truth.
Cone.
Abstract. Maybe an F.
