Comments:
This is a bare bones camera - a lot of standard features are cut out, but I like it. There's less to go wrong. Omitting the 1 - 1/8 second shutter speeds makes a lot of sense to me - you never try to handhold those speeds anyway, and they are easily acquired by using bulb.
The body is plasticy, but still inspires confidence. It is pretty light, but largish - closer to an F than an FM. One interesting thing is the rewind knob doesn't pull up like it does for every other 35mm SLR I know about - there is a cut out in the bottom to allow the cartridge to lift out.
The one think I do not like is that the finder is dark and the black-out time is very long. I thought the shutter speeds were off at first because the mirror lingers for a bit before dropping down.
The sticker one the bottom warns to use mercury batteries instead of the modern alkaline or you will get incorrect exposures. I'm guessing it's close enough for negative film, or that you could just adjust the ISO to get accurate exposures. But meters are for wusses anyway.
Overall, this is a great shooter, especially for students. The Konica Hexanon lenses are good and cheap, too.
